Attention All 8th Graders Applying to the Governor's School! This is just a reminder that you need to turn in the Governor's School Application form to Mrs. Ballard as soon as possible. Also, be sure to give your teachers the recommendation forms to complete. Applications are due November 30th!!!
Are you interested in studying a career that will help you reach your life goals? Did you know that the ACE Centers at Hermitage High School offers 30 program options such as Graphic Communications, Radio Broadcasting, Medical Sciences, Sports Medicine, Veterinary Sciences, Barbering, Cosmetology, and Computer Systems Technology, just to name a few? If you are interested in learning more about any of their programs, please sign up with Mrs. Ballard in school counseling by Friday, October 12th, for an opportunity to go on a field trip to Hermitage High School!
Attention All 8th Graders
Applications for the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies will be available online beginning October 15, 2018. Only students who meet the criteria and are eligible to apply will have access to the online application. Any 8th grade student interested in applying to this competitive regional high school must meet the following criteria:

Urgent News Regarding this School Year’s Attendance Procedures
Henrico Code of Conduct States:
5th unexcused absence to school: parent and student will be contacted by the Principal or his designee and a plan will be developed to prevent further unexcused absences
7th Unexcused absence to school: A school conference will be held with the parents, and school staff to resolve continuing attendance difficulties.
10th unexcused absence to school: Per code of VA State Law § 22.1-258. The school social worker will file a CHINS petition against the student through Henrico Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court

Cub Camp will take place on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 9 am-12 noon at Brookland Middle School. Please report to the gym to sign in and get your room number.
Brookland Middle School is located in the middle of Henrico County. It was built in 1958 and renovated in 2012. Situated on 33 acres, there are 13 buildings including seven classroom buildings, a gym and activities building, a library, three cafeterias, and an administration building.
