Mission StatementThe Brookland Middle School Counseling Program is dedicated to providing a comprehensive, data driven, and effective program that addresses the academic, career, and personal/social development and growth of ALL students. In order to develop students into responsible 21st century citizens, we place an emphasis on using diverse, creative, interactive, innovative, and effective strategies to ensure that students from all backgrounds, religions, races, and socioeconomic statuses have access to the best possible education. As Professional School Counselors, we collaborate with other educators, parents/ guardians, and the community to promote access and equity for all students through a combination of sincere relationships and effective communication. This partnership promotes the development of skills necessary for all students to become productive citizens and life-long learners. Students will leave Brookland Middle School with an appreciation for others, a thirst for knowledge, and a desire to use their abilities to improve the world around them

Vision StatementThe vision of the Brookland Middle School counseling program is for all students to develop into Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible individuals who are prepared for future success in their post-secondary pursuits. With the help of community involvement, a well-rounded counseling program, and exposure to a celebration of cultural diversity, students will emerge as confident and hardworking members of an increasingly interconnected society. As college or career-ready individuals, students will be model citizens and contributing members of the 21st century, equipped with the emotional, social, technological, and academic skills that will aid in all of the life endeavors. BMS students will be accepting citizens who embrace their own value and have an intrinsic motivation to initiate conversations, collaborate, and contribute to a diverse community for the improvement of our global society.
