If your student applied to the IB program, or if you think you might move to a new school zone before next school year starts, please proceed as if they will be going to their CURRENT zoned middle school until you have documentation otherwise. Schedules will be adjusted at a later date if needed.
What needs to be done now?
STEP 2: During parent/teacher conferences in February, your child’s teacher will go over his/her course recommendations with you. Discuss the teacher’s recommendations and elective options with your child. If you have questions/concerns about recommendations but cannot attend a conference, please reach out to your child’s teacher and/or School Counselor.
STEP 3: Between January 30th-February 9th, confirm the course selections and choose electives online through your PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you do not have computer/internet access, you may use computers on campus during parent/teacher conferences to confirm recommendations and choose electives. Parents must make all course selections in PowerSchool between January 30th – February 9th, 2018.
STEP 4: Your school counselor will print your student’s course recommendations/selections and send them home in March. This will not be a schedule, just a list of the courses for which your student has enrolled. You will need to sign that form and return it to your school counselor (dates vary by school).
